Cooking has always been something I haven’t been good at. My mother used to joke that I could burn an egg and the truth is….she was right!

But at the same time, I have always enjoyed watching people cook on TV. The variety of things that can be made with a few ingredients makes me want to be able to cook them myself.

So one day I decided enough was enough, I was going to learn to cook and not only that, I was going to cook restaurant quality food.

The first few attempts weren’t good, I’ll have to admin that. But I was determined, so I forged on and eventually decided to get a book that a friend told me I HAD to have.

I didn’t know if they meant it was good or whether I was just so bad!

Fortunately it turns out both were true. But the book was so good it made me good at the same time!

The book was called America’s Secret Recipes.

Well, I say book but it is actually so much more than that. It’s a downloadable guide to making all sorts of secret restaurant recipes including KFC, Wendy’s, Red Lobster, Applebee’s, Cheesecake Factory and even McDonald’s!

In total there were more than 700 recipes to choose from and I knew it was quickly going to help me out. So I got stuck in and made my first recipe which was Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits and I can’t tell you how good they tasted. I literally had to phone everyone I knew to come and taste them!

After a few weeks my friends and family started ignoring my calls because they knew I wanted them to taste my cooking. It was that good!
